Losing weight is not always as simple as beginning an exercise routine or maintaining a healthy eating regiment, although these things are definitely essential. If it were that simple, then more people would easily lose weight and keep it off.
So, what is the missing ingredient in most weight loss efforts?
Take a guess, then scroll down to see the answer…

The missing ingredient in most weight loss efforts is…
Looking at and addressing beliefs that keep the weight on!
Everyone from psychologists and spiritual teachers, to quantum physicists and even some high profile biologists, agree that what we believe is what we experience. In other words, our beliefs shape our experiences in life, and the area of body image is no exception.
This is great when what we believe is in alignment what we want, but our negative beliefs are usually in conflict with our ultimate goals. What exactly does this mean for you? Here are a few examples of how negative underlying beliefs could be working against you…
If you are trying to lose weight, and at the same time have a subconscious belief that says, “I don’t deserve to look good,” then chances are you will not experience long-lasting success in your efforts.
“I’ll never have the body I want,” is a belief that keeps the weight on.
A less extreme example could be something like, “If I lose weight, I'm just going to gain it back again.” It seems relatively harmless, but a little belief like this is highly effective at sabotaging your efforts before you even get started.
What do you think some of your
limiting beliefs may be?
Take a minute to consider your answer carefully… |

Since beliefs reside in the depths of the subconscious mind, you might be unaware of what you believe about yourself and your body at the deepest level. This could pose a difficult challenge for you if your efforts to lose weight are in conflict with what you believe underneath it all. In this case, trying to lose weight is like trying to drive without realizing that the parking break is on. It can be a slow and frustrating experience, feeling like the harder you work at making the car speed up, the slower it seems to go… you might give up before you get there.
If you're not aware of the beliefs that keep you from having what you want, how can you change them? And how do you go about changing these beliefs once you know about them?
Mindful Weight Loss is a program that uses a new approach to support you in achieving your healthy weight loss goals. Body Image Coach Niki Svara will help you to understand, identify, and transform your limiting self-image beliefs into beliefs that will lead you to a more positive body image.
